Meditation:
God provides all the different animals with their own homes. Birds live in the trees. Goats live in the mountains. Badgers live in the rocks. Each of these is its proper place. But none of them build beautiful homes. They just move around natural things to provide for themselves. However, man is endowed with rationality, and so we can recognize beauty beyond pure use. Man builds homes that are intentionally beautiful, and this in its own way serves to give glory to God by reflecting His image in the creation.
Psalm 104:16-18
The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon which he planted. In them the birds build their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the badgers.
Prayer:
Christ is risen from the dead,
By death trampling down on death,
And to those in the tomb,
He has granted life!
