Meditation:
In Psalm 57, David calls out to God to save him from his enemies. David looks to the created word to understand God’s faithfulness. The perpetual movement of the heavens shows God’s faithfulness in creation, and therefore serves as a sign of His faithfulness to us. In the paschal season, let us remember how God was faithful to His promises by sending Christ to save us from our sins, and how He will always be faithful to us in our lives if we are faithful to Him.
Psalm 57:9-11
I will give thanks to thee, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to thee among the nations. For thy steadfast love is great to the heavens, thy faithfulness to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let thy glory be over all the earth!
Prayer:
Christ is risen from the dead,
By death trampling down on death,
And to those in the tomb,
He has granted life!
