Meditation:
The second psalm further clues us in as to the identity of the righteous man. He is the king of Jerusalem, the promised messiah. He is the begotten Son of God. Christ is this promised king, and the Father has given him all the nations of the Earth to rule. The Church is to fulfill Christ’s mission through evangelizing all nations to accept Christ’s rule.
Psalm 2:6-8
“I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.” I will tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to me, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.”
Prayer:
Christ is risen from the dead,
By death trampling down on death,
And to those in the tomb,
He has granted life!
